The National landscape in Early Childhood Education has 
changed significantly in recent times and there is much to be
learned from new research on child development and learning,
and in the emerging knowledge base regarding educational
effectiveness. These changes are reflected in current
National and State directions for improving literacy outcomes
in Western Australian schools, with a particular focus on the
delivery of quality early childhood education programs.
