There are four classes of Membership of the Association:
- Ordinary Member
- Restricted Ordinary Member
- Retired Member
- Aspirant Member
Ordinary Membership shall be open to:
Principals and Deputy Principals of WA govenment schools with a primary component; Principals and Deputy Principals in acting positions, for over one semester, in a WA government school with a primary compoennt (full membership for a period of one year); and those who have held substantive positions as Principals and Deputy Principals in a WA government school, with a primary component, but currently occupy other administrative roles or hold positions in district office, central office or on secondment.

- Access to all services, advocacy, social functions and professional development initiatives
- Preferential listing for Annual Conference attendance

Restricted Ordinary Membership shall be open to:
Primary Principals, primary Deputy Principals, heads and deputy heads of junior schools in non government schools; Principals and Deputy Principals of schools outside3 of Western Australia; Directors; Senior executive of the Department of Educatiuon (WA); Ordinary members of WAPPA who are on approved leave for a minimum period of 1 year unless otherwise determined by the Board; and Principal Consultants employed under the Education Act and who are not eligible for Ordinary Membership of the Association.

- Contact with your National and International colleagues

Retired membership shall be open to:
Previous Ordinary Members who are retired.

Retired Membership Application Form
Aspirant Membership shall be open to:
Teaching staff working in Western Australian Government schools with a primary component who are undertaking a professional learning programme (as approved by the Board of Management from time to time) to obtain the necessary skills and experience to become a Principal Class Officer.
Benefits:
- Attendance at Annual and Special General Meetings (but no voting rights)
- Preferential listing for Annual Conference attendance
- Such publications, communications and other benefits as the Board of Management may determine from time to time
- Opportunity to apply for Action Research Awards
- An assigned "Principal Colleague" to mentor

Aspirant Membership - 50% of Ordinary (Level 3) membership fees
