Prerequisites
Ideally teachers and leaders will have a working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (eg attending a WAPPA Australian Curriculum Maths workshop in 2011 or attended the February 28 2012 professional learning day.

Description:
Don't panic, the content descriptors haven't changed, but the achievement standards have been expanded. Clearer directions as to the expectations for each Year level have been provided.

In this workshop, Dr Paul Swan and Linda Marshall will provide a brief overview of the achievement standards and then will focus more on some standards in order to illustrate a variety of assessment techniques that will help teachers assess whether students are achieving the standards. Some reference will be made to NAPLAN questions that highlight various standards, however the focus of this workshop will not be NAPLAN.

Suggestions will be made regarding a whole school approach to implementing the Australian Curriculum Mathematics that includes Assessment milestones.
