Prerequisites:
Provide a written summary of your own real work context detailing the issues arising from a change initiative that you have previously managed, or a change that is proposed for the near future in order to receive input from a collegiate group of like-minded people.

Description:
Change Management in Action provides an opportunity for participants to explore the change process where they draw on their own experiences as change agents to explore and share how they have managed past change initiatives or wish to develop new ways of approaching change in the future. You as leader are central to the process as we reflect on change management concepts, consider different ways of approaching change and describe processes for successful change management. An action learning frame is applied throughout the day where the expertise of the group assists participants to implement a theory of action for change in their school.

Key Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of change strategies and mindsets.
  • Identify leadership strategies for managing change successfully.
  • Cultivate a theory of action to manage a change process in their school.

  • Defining paradigms of change and types of change.
  • Exploring approaches and strategies for change management.
  • Examine systems theory and choices for implementing change.
  • Review a theory of action to use and test in their school / leadership context.
