On behalf of the WAPPA Board and Business Centre team, I would like to welcome you all to the start of, what already looks like being, another challenging school year.

In addition to myself, the WAPPA Board for 2022 consists of:
Dean Finlay (Vice President), Ash King (Vice President), Lisa Helenius (Executive), Mel Sutherland (Executive), Emma Bancroft, Donna Bridge, Barbara Bromley, Gary Crocetta, Julie Simpfendorfer and Ross Tamlin.

The new Board met on 20 January for the first time. Our priority continues to be establishing a new three-year Strategic Direction and subsequent strategies, that supports our pillars of Support, Advocacy, Leadership and Connection.

At the Business Centre, we welcome Phillippa Berkhout into the position of Member Support Officer for Term 1, 2022. Phillippa is available to provide support and advice on any concerns you have. I would urge all members to reach out to this support service during these challenging times, either by email (services@wappa.net.au) or phone (6380 1755). Phillippa joins the dedicated team of eight, who work diligently, to breathe life into all of WAPPA’s operations.

As we enter a new chapter, I am keen to work with the membership, to ensure WAPPA continues to be at the forefront of all issues that impact educational leadership. We will be doing some things slightly differently and embracing new initiatives, to try and engage and connect with you, in a manner that fits with your busy schedules. The first of these ‘not so new’ initiatives is the use of video links and updates, like the ones below. I would encourage you to click through these in your own time, and encourage you to provide feedback, thoughts and ideas, directly to me at .

If you are not eligible to be a member, you can still subscribe to the WAPPA mailing lists to receive information about upcoming events and professional learning, also receive newsletters and magazines.
