Finally, I would like to advise WAPPA members, that Gary Crocetta has been seconded to the position of Director, Public School Review, for the remainder of the year. AGPPA & APPA News

The Australian Principal Health & Wellbeing survey is now live for new participant registrations from 31 August 2022 at https://healthandwellbeing.org/AU.  Ongoing previously registered participants have received their links but we ask that you encourage school leaders to contact us if their emails have changed.  The 2022 survey is open to all school leaders in principal and deputy principal roles.

This research has significant impact in the diagnostic feedback given to school principals, the evaluation of existing policy initiatives, and the consultation with state departments leading to important new policy initiatives.  There were at least 411 media mentions of the 2021 report.

APPA's Newsletter, National Horizons can be read at the attached link.

R U OK Day

R U OK? wants to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling.
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. (Tips on how to do this are here: https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask)
Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:

WAPPA Award Nominations

This is your last chance to nominate a WAPPA member for one of three service awards.

WAPPA presents a range of awards at our AGM and since last year, has given members some input in recommending suitable nominations for these awards.  This year, we are continuing this practice and as such, would seek nominations from members for the following:

Professional Learning

Louka Parry, recently listed in The Australian Newspaper’s Top 100 Innovators list is a former school principal who believes our ability to ‘learn, unlearn and relearn’ is our greatest asset. (Read more about Louka here)

Louka will host WAPPA’s Learning Lab in Term 4 which will be a series of 3 short evening webinars which will take you on a thought journey where you will emerge thinking differently about learning, teaching and leadership. Throughout the series Louka will provide you with optional resources such as podcasts, readings and videos to assist you with your 21st Century Learning.

Register today to secure your place in this unique cohort!

WAPPA Aspirant Event

In the coming holidays, we have a very special session on the WHY of You with PRINT as it helps us to connect to the great work many of us have been doing throughout the Attributes in Action series.

In this session, you will be able to participate in the PRINT survey and work through activities on self-awareness that help us stay in best self, minimise shadow behaviours and where possible avoid or at least minimise triggers.

This truly is a session not to be missed and it is available at an incredible cost of $185 + GST to all members.
