Standards and Integrity Directorate and Freedom of Information Workshop.
The words “Standards and Integrity” often strike fear into the heart of many an employee. However, SID is not just responsible for disciplinary investigations. Directorate staff can help school leaders raise awareness about professional standards and assist them to manage complaints related to misconduct.
Resulting from the frequent meetings and other interactions WAPPA has with the Department in the work of representing members, we felt this to be an ideal opportunity for members to hear directly from those involved at the departmental level.
Standards and Integrity Directorate (SID)
SID delivers a range of learning programs available to schools to improve conduct and can also help guide leaders through the complaint’s management process. In this workshop, school leaders will receive an overview of the Directorate’s operations, the complaints assessment process and the types of matters dealt with by SID. Suzi Baker, Manager SID will explain how SID can help you in your role as a school leader.
Freedom of Information
School Leaders often receive requests from employees, parents or members of the public to access information. Deciding what to give, to whom and how can be difficult. In this workshop Letitia Fortune of the Information Release Unit will guide attendees through the types of Department information that is freely available to the public or which you can make available on informal request. Learn when a formal FOI application is required, and which information is excluded from access. Most importantly, know where in the Department to get help when a request for information comes your way.
