I hope that busy Term 3 has been treating you well and with the sunshine promised by Djilba becoming more regular, it renews and re-energises.  I have enjoyed my new journey to work, driving slowly past Lake Monger and seeing the glassy waters reflected back and watching nature in motion. I have had a wonderful start to my role of Manager, Professional Learning at WAPPA, being welcomed by the amazing Business Centre team, Board, and Members.

I come to the role having worked at the Leadership Institute for a number of years, designing and coordinating leadership development programs for the Department. Many of you would know me from this role and I look forward to our continued partnership in supporting the important work that you all do in schools.

I acknowledge and understand the deeply complex and often hectic role of the school leader with its varied responsibilities and see my role as a support to assist you to connect to the big picture. The big picture is the why we do what we do, often being lost to the busyness paradigm of schooling systems. I seek to offer you professional learning opportunities that speak to your why, your big picture, to assist you to reflect and be inspired.
Two recent partnerships I have been engaged with could see some exciting and unique opportunities for our WAPPA members.
I have been working with Barb Watterston, CEO of The Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL), and have an exclusive opportunity for WAPPA Members coming up:
WAPPA Hub Conference Breakfast - Join us for breakfast, on Wednesday 29 September, to support our colleagues in the Eastern States who are currently unable to meet face to face. ACEL will cross live to us in WA. We will hear from renowned educational leaders discussing their take on Educational Equity. If you would like to attend the breakfast, please email me.

ACEL Online Conference 2021Leading Excellence Through Equity
Pre-conference Masterclass: Leading with the heart and mind, a prelude to the Online Conference. This workshop was developed to support emerging and middle leaders.

In the school holidays coming up, WAPPA is hosting another Aspirant Event. The event will include two sessions:
