As the end of the year gets increasingly closer, now is the time that many of you are looking to plan your professional learning calendar for 2022. We are excited to release WAPPA's Signature Professional Learning calendar for 2022 in this week’s newsletter. WAPPA's Signature PL can also be delivered to your school, Chapter, Collegial Group or Network. So, please contact me for a quote to tailor to your needs.

Next week we will finally be able to launch some of the very exciting WAPPA exclusive events that will be taking place in early 2022. Stay connected to ensure you don’t miss out on these PL opportunities working closely with special guests. These program cohorts will have a strictly limited capacity, so please stay tuned.

We are looking for 20 leaders to begin their journey in the International School Leadership Certificate program in May 2022. WAPPA has again negotiated this learning opportunity with our partners in the Ontario Principals’ Council. This internationally recognised 6 module program has recently been rated highly for impact by Edith Cowan University.

We will be hosting a free online information session at 7.30pm on Monday, 6 December. Please click here to find out more and register if you would like to join us.

Are you aware of what motivates you? Understanding what an unconscious motivator is, and most importantly knowing your own, creates increased awareness of your individual needs that drive you to become the happiest and most productive version of yourself. The PRINT® profile does just that, and it’s proven to help improve individual and team performance significantly.

PRINT
® uncovers your unique Best Self behaviours (productive and positive) as well as potential Shadow behaviours (automatic, unproductive, and negative). Understanding both Best Self and Shadow can have a significant impact on your health and the health of your team and organisation.

Often those who aspire to leadership are provided with the feedback that they need to network. But what is networking, how do I feel about it and what does it look like for me? Join us for a 2-hour online session where we will unpack the purpose of networking and begin to develop a plan of action that feels authentic to you.

Three decades on, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is now more relevant than ever.

COVID-19 has altered, or in some cases severely disrupted our lives. Being in constant reaction to situations that are outside of our control can make us feel powerless. As individuals and leaders, we need to refocus and clearly prioritise the aspects of life and work that are most important. The Habits challenge you to consider your actions and intentions from the perspective of personal control while providing strategies for living life with purpose.

Transitions of any kind are major challenges, however, the transition from teacher to Deputy Principal is more complex than most. It requires a high level of preparation regarding mindset, skills and knowledge, relationships, and organisation.  A well-planned transition has the potential to bring early success, and the key to success is having a plan. This workshop will address key research on transition and provide participants with a clear perspective of what they need to do, demonstrate, understand, and develop before they even attempt to make the leap.

We are working very hard behind the scenes to update our website to give you the latest information on PL, but always feel free to give me a call or send me an email to discuss your learning needs. Be aware though, this week I have already sent 2 of our members on an international journey of discovery that they never thought conceivable. I hope they survive and update us on their creative learning experience in my next edition.

I wish you all the best for the end of the year and hope you get the chance to create some space to relax and renew and to ponder…

What new learning experiences will I engage with during
2022 that will inspire and engage curiosity?
